ON 26 February 2026 Afghanistan launched a Retaliatory operation against Pakistan engaging ethe Taliban this operation followed an escalation in border skirmishes and cross border firing incidents along the Durand line involving the Afghan Taliban and Pakistani security forces the following day Pakistan Announced a state of open war with Afghanistan escalating its airstrikes and striking targets through out Afghanistan including the capital of Kabul

Kabul said those attacks were in retaliation for Pakistan`s bombing of what it said were militant camps in Afghanistan over the weekend that left at least is people dead.

on 1march 2026 Pakistan`s information minister Attaullah Tarar said 46 locations across Afghanistan had been hit by air shrikes since its operation began including Bagram Airfield Pakistan claimed to have killed 415 soldiers for the loss of 120of its own an afghani spoke person counter-claimed that 80 Pakistani soldiers were killed and 27 military posts captured for the loos of 13 soldiers.

Afghanistan was reported by Indian media Sources to have allegedly NUR khan on 2 march 2026 Pakistani security sources told leaders that Pakistani force continued to conduct airstrikes and ground attacks and that they had destroyed ammunition depots in KHOST and Islamabad well as a drone Story site in Islamabad among other targets additionally at around 5 an local time Pakistani fighter jets launched multiple airstrikes on Bagram airbase.
once again Afghan forces claimed to have repelled the Aerrial assault using zu-23 anti-aircraft guns but satellite imagery published later by the New York times showing multiple blasts and destroyed buildings at the base confirmed that Bagram airbase had actually been struck contrary to Afghan claims
Iran Offers to facilitate dialogue between Afghanistan and Pakistan :-
”the Islamic republic of Iran stands ready to provide any assistance necessary to enhance understanding and cooperation between the two countries” .foreign minister Abbas Araghchi has posted on x. separately, his ministry urged the side to respect each other’s territorial integrity and to refrain from any action that could escalate tensions and conflict”. Iran ,which shares borders with both Pakistan and Afghanistan, has also engaged, with the Taliban authorities, though it has not formally recognised their rule during a previous round of hostilities between Afghanistan and Pakistan in October, Iran had offered to mediate between them.
Trump rules out intervention, says Pakistan is doing terrifically well :-

In response to a question whether he would intervene in the conflict, he said “well I would , but I get along with Pakistan, as you know, very-well -very ,very well’ ‘.you have a great prime minister. you have a great general there. you have a great leader. I think two of the people that Pakistan is doing terrifically well you know” trump said.
